WHY WOMEN GATHER...
Chances are, at every stage of your life you have gathered with girlfriends. In grade school you got together to play hopscotch and jump rope. In high school you shared make-up and talked about boys. And in college you probably looked out for each other at those wild frat parties.
Once you reached full on adulthood with your adult responsibilities and demands on your time, you probably became less and less intentional about your girlfriend time. Far too many women today are so entrenched in their daily routine that they scarcely have time by themselves let alone time to get together with their girlfriends.
For women who are dealing with divorce or other life-changing transitions, it can be even harder to break out of the spell of settling in with a bowl of popcorn and a Lifetime movie weekend after weekend.
This is what The Butterfly Circle is for; reaching out to one another to lend an ear or bend an ear. We each play different roles at different times in our lives. While you may be going through a period of grief and healing, your fellow butterflies can provide you with the support and compassion you need until you are feeling like yourself again. Later, you might find yourself being the supportive friend for another. This is why women gather.
We gather to share with and support one another, to love and inspire one another, to cry and laugh with each other through the many journeys women face.
There are women who are called to bring us all together. I am one of those women. I cherish the community we are creating with this circle. If you are wondering if you belong, then the answer is YES! You could be the difference for someone else between hopelessness and hope. Or find someone to make a difference for you.
